Language Arts Lesson Plan

Online Sustained Silent Reading Sites
Use the internet to offer variety in Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) program (which is the same as DEAR–Drop Everything and Read). Every student can find something they’ll like on these websites.
Everyday Vocabulary
Always use correct vocabulary terms when talking about technology. Student need to get used to ‘geek speak’.
Online Spelling Practice.
Use Spelling City to practice spelling words, site word or Dolch words.
Vocabulary Table in Word
Make a table of vocabulary words for studying. Include word, definition, picture, to address multiple intelligences for learning–writing words, researching them and picturing them.
Sponge Activities for Language Arts
A sponge ‘soaks up’ those extra minutes in the school day before lunch, after a quiz. Focused websites are a great way to engage students in learning for five to ten minutes.
